TRUSTEE EDUCATION WORKSHOPS:  Tuesday, July 15, 2008, 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm   

These sessions are designed to comply with requirements in Senate Bill 406 concerning Board Member continuing education program credits and include:  Pension Plan Design and Administration; Joint Committee on Public Employee Retirement 101; Sunshine Law Basics, Investments 101 and Actuary 101.  You may register for multiple sessions.  Fiduciary Responsibility will be presented in the general session.  Post-conference Certificates of Attendance will be sent to pension plans for their file and distribution to attendees,

 RECREATION CHOICES ON THE AFTERNOON OF JULY 17, 2008

PLEASE NOTE:  You may participate in one event and your family in another event; however, we ask that each individual participate in only one recreational event.  And remember, these events are for the enjoyment of the conference attendee and immediate family. 

GOLF:  The Oaks Golf Course (Tan-Tar-A property), Shotgun Start, 1:00 pm,

The maximum number of participants in this golf outing is 100.  Spaces are filled on a first come, first served basis.  Additional names will be placed on a waiting list in the event a space becomes available after the initial 100 spaces have been filled.  If you register for this Golf Outing and are subsequently forced to change your plans, immediately inform Jim Pyle by phone at 816-482-8157, or by email at jpyle@kcpd.org.

 BIG SURF WATERPARK:  12:00 Noon - 7:00 pm

The waterpark is located on the west side of Hwy. 54, approx. 3 miles south of Rt. KK and features Runaway Rapids, Wave Pool, Body Flumes, Whirl Pool, Space Bowl, Activity Pool, Lazy River Float, Hungry Surfer Café  (BBQ, Mexican, Pizza & many fast food items).   Park entrance fees and all charges at the food court at included in this event.  View the park at www.BigSurfWaterpark.com.  Directions to the park from Tan-Tar-A Resort:  From the entrance to the Resort, turn right on Rt. KK to Hwy. 54 to Route Y exit ramp at the Big Surf & Big Shot sign.  You are responsible for your own transportation to and from the waterpark.  

OZARK PRINCESS EXCURSION BOAT:  Tan-Tar-A Marina, 12:00 Noon – 2:00 pm

The Ozark Princess is located in the Tan-Tar-A Marina, lakeside of the Wind Rose dining room.  Her completely enclosed bottom deck has seating for 40 and a picnic lunch will be served.  The top level is partially covered with a canvas roof.  Plastic sides can be rolled down in case of inclement weather.  The top level has additional seating for a beautiful view of the mid-Missouri summertime sky.  The Ozark Princess can accommodate only 90 guests, so register early.  Directions to the excursion boat:  From the Sbarro Pizza entrance, walk down the hill and take the first street to the left, which doubles back to the Tan-Tar-A Marina.
